Re: Boulevard discontinues Bully! Porter

I'd say I've had less Blvd but Zon and Bob's 47 are favorites I always get in their season and they do good special releases. I'm sure there will be some in my fridge more often than not but I like variety too much to get everything they put out. Snow & Tell in August is an odd choice though. Now t...

Re: Boulevard discontinues Bully! Porter

I do wish the US craft beer scene would move on a bit from the IPA/Sour trend it continues to be stuck in, but there is still a good variety of stuff if you poke around a little. I think there's quite a craft lager movement in progress at the moment. I wish west coast IPA's would make a comeback. T...

Re: New in August

I enjoyed trying the Prost mix pack over the weekend. I didn't really like the Kolsch (I got a hint clove - a total turnoff for me). I thought the Pils was on par with KC Bier Co's. I liked the Dunkel a little better than KC Bier's. I thought the Marzen was a tad better than any local version I've h...

Re: Favorite lower gravity beers

Lost Evenings is your kind of place. Low gravity is Pat's wheelhouse. Sadly I experienced some oxidation issues with a couple of their canned beers that I hung onto for a couple weeks. They'll get it fixed, but I'd drink up soon just to be safe.

Re: Boulevard 2020 Releases

I picked up a bottle of Platonic, but I don't know when I'll get around to drinking it. It's absurd that they're still putting big beers in 750ml bottles...especially at a time when bottle shares are (or should be) on hiatus. I was interested in the Foeder beers until I saw the malt profile. Given t...

Re: New Kansas City Area Brewery / Brewpubs

Lost Evenings in Lenexa opened today. Pat is an award winning homebrewer and all around good dude. He tends to make sessionable beers, which is what he's opening with.

Re: Craft beer in the time of Coronavirus

Guys, if you haven't had Sandhills West Coast IPA, go get it now. It won't be around long.

Re: Likely moving to Perry near Lawrence and Topeka

I only know about the Lawrence Brewers Guild homebrew club. They're a pretty active group. Good folks from what I can tell.

Speaking of Sandhills. Picked up a 4-pack of their Other Half Collab was so dang good.
It was as good or better than any NE I've had from BKS. Didn't have the hop bite / heat I often get from BKS NEs.
