Craft beer in the time of Coronavirus

Yesterday, my super awesome wife went to Servaes of her own volition and picked up one the best NE IPAs I have had to date (called That! Servaes IPA, a collaboration with Boiler Brewing from Lincoln, NE and I think they still have some) along with some sort of Blackberry Cream Ale that we have yet t...

Re: Drink my cellar party

I was actually planning on visiting SFCA this year. Pretty sure that's not gonna happen now!

Re: Drink my cellar party

Well I mean, to an extent, just about every tasting I have been to has been a "drink the cellar" event, or at least an attempt at one. I did go to one of Ted's cellar events, back in 2013 or so, when we used to do those kinds of things.

Are you here in town for the time being then?

Re: Flatland beer events and releases

https://www.flatlandkc.org/eats-drinks/hops-hysteria-2020/tap-list-hops-hysteria-beer-bracket-begins-today-untappd/ I thought this would be fun to participate in, but straight out of the gate, I got Tank 7 vs. Second Breakfast Porter from East Forty Brewing Co., which is somewhere I will probably ne...

Re: Boulevard discontinues Bully! Porter

You guys are being awfully diplomatic about this. :D I guess I just don't feel like dealing with it in that way. But, I did have a nice run-in with Michael Crane a couple of days ago, he reminded me that they make a nice Porter called Omar that is coming out in cans this week. Actually he mentioned ...

Re: Boulevard discontinues Bully! Porter

I recall seeing John McDonald say once that even though that beer did not sell well over the last several years, it was one that they would continue to produce anyway, so I went back and found the article on that. It was very telling: https://www.joplinglobe.com/news/lifestyles/dave-woods-the-booze-...

Boulevard discontinues Bully! Porter

https://www.boulevard.com/2020/02/11/boulevard-in-2020/ Maybe not the newest of news, but I hadn't heard yet. I'm afraid this is going to damage my relationship with Boulevard to an extent --I'm taking this one personally. Sorry not sorry, Boulevard. I've never had any beer onhand as much as that on...

Re: Local COLA labels approval

Interesting to me that Blvd decided to do an Imperial Red for their Chiefs beer, that doesn't strike me as a style that a ton of predominantly non-craft beer drinkers would necessarily enjoy. Just a straight Amber/Red Ale would be, but maybe they thought it would be too similar to Irish Ale which wa...
