Boulevard 2020 Releases

Post by localbrewer » June 25th, 2020, 7:07 am

Figured I would start a new thread even though we are half way through the year. I wanted to see who is considering attending the release on July 1st for the side project collaborations. https://www.boulevard.com/2020/06/24/br ... -cherries/

They sound great, but I won't make it to the pick-up.

Nope. Support your local brewery!

Has anyone tried Let’s Keep it Platonic? If so, how was is it?

I had it at the brewery a week ago or so. It is good, nothing amazing that you need to run out for but really good. Eric, why can't I do both, planning to grab some Shelton Theory 4 by Fields & Ivy today..

Had the Skeleton #4 last night. I think I liked #3 a little better but still really good.

I picked up a bottle of Platonic, but I don't know when I'll get around to drinking it. It's absurd that they're still putting big beers in 750ml bottles...especially at a time when bottle shares are (or should be) on hiatus.

I was interested in the Foeder beers until I saw the malt profile. Given that and the price point, I'll pass.

To avoid being totally negative, I'll add that the collaboration Pilsner they released recently is freaking killer. I'd love to see that one become a core beer.

I'd have liked that, as I do most big beers, in a 4-pack format - even 12oz singles like Avery does if they must. You definitely need to be able to invest a full night if you're drinking that one alone.

If nothing else, if I pay $20 for a 4-pack then I can spread them out and see the benefit of time on a beer that big. Granted this beer comes decently aged and is not alcohol hot like some young big stouts are.
