Craft beer in the time of Coronavirus

Post by EricH » March 22nd, 2020, 1:48 pm

Yesterday, my super awesome wife went to Servaes of her own volition and picked up one the best NE IPAs I have had to date (called That! Servaes IPA, a collaboration with Boiler Brewing from Lincoln, NE and I think they still have some) along with some sort of Blackberry Cream Ale that we have yet to crack. It was a special release and they did to-go/curbside pickup, of course.

Is anyone else going out of their way to grab something at a local brewery these days? Know of any beer releases or anything worth mentioning to pick up anywhere around town?

I saw on the news that Bier Station is doing beer to go and, at least on that day, the line was 90 mins long. :o

I grabbed a couple crowlers from Transport, but my big haul was four crowlers and a keg from my favorite local brewery: Alma Mader. They didn't have any 1/6bbl kegs of Premient, but I got Conjunction which is an awesome Kolsch. I wanted to hit Sandhills too, but it didn't work out.

I'm good to hunker down for a while with this plus the stash I already had.

Honestly, I'm really surprised that breweries and liquor stores are considered an essential business during the stay-at-home order.
