Wicked Weed falls to the wicked ones

Postby localbrewer » May 3rd, 2017, 9:36 am

Wicked Weed has been acquired by Anheuser Busch :( I have only tried one or two of their things but have liked what I have tried so far. Personally I don't like when companies go over to AmBev.

Same, I would much rather give my money to a local brewer than to one owned by A-B. Never tried any Wicked Weed stuff, but I guess it will stay that way.

Bummer. WW made some of the best beers I've had so far this year. Let's hope this acquisition does not have an impact on the innovation or quality.

Jester King said that they will no longer sell Wicked Weed beers at their brewery and will not do any collaborations with them in the future.

I had never been that impressed with any of their stuff. Nothing has changed for me. I gained a bunch of respect for Jester King after reading their post tho!

Never bought a ww beer before so nothing changes for me. I went to a store tonight and the ww beer was on clearance. Perhaps a coincidence but funny either way.

At this point over 20 breweries have now refused to show up to the 2017 Funkatorium Invitational after the announcement. They said that they are working on getting an updated list of breweries that will still show up and are now offering to buy back tickets from anyone who already purchased them and does not want them any more.
