Thanks for the plug Schu!

Johnson County Brewing Society will be doing a Pecan Nut Brown Ale from extract. We also will be serving some homebrew samples along with a small competition for the best homebrew of the day. Our host, Whole Foods will be serving up food samples and there will be local commercial beers and wine in the Lone Elm Taproom. If you come out be sure to introduce yourself! It would be nice to put some faces to these names/avatars on here!

Grain to Glass (1611 Swift, North Kansas City) has a supply of German malts to offer at no cost, for brewers that would like to bring their equipment to the parking lot and brew today. The weather couldn't be better! Brewing starts at 10 AM; there's water for wort chillers, and a batch of sanitizer will be prepared. Lunch is served to invited brewers.
For non-brewers, there will be homebrew samples, free copies of Zymurgy, and a $5 discount on purchase of basic equipment kits all day. Homebrewing is a fun and popular hobby--come see!
There will also be a demo of a pot-column still, from fermented barley/wheat/rye.
Learn to Brew Day runs until 4 PM.
