Leaving KC

If it's not necessarily beer-related, post about it here.

Leaving KC

Postby johnf » June 23rd, 2014, 2:43 pm

I have been able to tell many of you this in person in the last week or two but I am taking my talents to NYC.

I really wanted to make Eric's tasting this Saturday but I will be out there getting a place which is pretty much my primary problem in life at the moment.

I will be at the July 3 tasting and leaving July 4.

I will definitely miss the craft beer and homebrewing communities in Kansas City. I hope I get to see most of you that I know and meet some new people before I leave.

Definitely look me up if you ever want to grab a beer in NYC.

I'm sad I never got to meet you in person, John. I've always enjoyed reading your insightful comments and excellent contributions to the forum. Good luck in NYC!

For sure, good luck John F!

I'm glad I got to talk to ya for a couple minutes at Boulevardia.

I think you were the first dude I met basically from this site a couple years ago. My love of saisons can definitely be attributed to your tasting back then too (or Ted's 1/123 Upright sole Composition, ha).

I've definitely learned alot from all your posts. You'll be missed for sure, but don't be a complete stranger to the site after ya move. You can keep us updated with all the East coast/New England area haps.

Later!

I'll come back even though I can't rub Smokestacks in your faces because Duvelvard USA doesn't distribute to their home state of NY.

Something something Hill Farmstead I guess.

I've never been much of a trader but I like you guys enough to get out the bubble wrap.

this is yet another sign of how John is mimicking me.

In this case, the July 3rd tasting is a send off to both of us.
lips of faith is where great beers go to die
I am prefacing this by saying I am really not trying to be a downer.

I figured by my moving to NYC and your moving to the PNW we were just honoring the law of conservation of beer geeks.
