South Brooklyn is underwater

If it's not necessarily beer-related, post about it here.

South Brooklyn is underwater

Postby beastiefan » October 30th, 2012, 11:27 am

For those that don't know, that is where I am from. Fortunately, all the family are ok and most of our stuff is fine. The boardwalk by my parents house is completely gone. My buddy in Staten Island (Artem) fared worse. He told me his parent's car floated away.

Another reason why I don't want to move back to NYC.

Also, very glad to hear the most important thing, that your family and friends are ok. I can't even imagine what everyone in that region is going through.

Hopefully everyone can band together and pull through as quickly as possible

They have it tough there. Really, the damage on all levels is worse than any other Hurricane I have handled in the last 5 years. I talk to people every day who had the water cover their cars even when they moved them to high ground around the house. People with water up to their ceilings in the basement. I am sitting in my basement right now and thinking what it would be like if it was all water, not good. On the whole, the people have talked to there are generally brusque, but they have all been resilient as hell and tough as nails.
