If it's not necessarily beer-related, post about it here.

Oh, I wouldn't say that. Just when talking about RHCP, to me there's no contest between this:

Or this:

And this:

"Une Rochefort, c'est bien.
Deux Rochefort, c'est moins.
Trois Rochefort, faut pas le faire."

Kansasrocksas line-up was announced: http://www.kansascity.com/2013/03/01/40 ... rylink=cpy

A few stand-outs, but mostly mediocre. Oh well, at least I got an early bird ticket. Anyone else going to this?

This is where it all started? Young man, get a history book! I suggest "hip hop america" by Nelson George.

Granted I should read that book, and yes I was born in 82'...but you are telling me some other group infused rock with hop in any kind of "popular" hard hitting way remotely like run DMC before they started? School me then....there were plently of other hip hop/rap groups/artists before them, yes.

KC's best sons and daughters, Soft Reeds, just put out a phenomenal LP: https://soundcloud.com/softreeds/sets/blank-city

Probably my favorite local album since Ad Astra's Catapult Calypso way back in '06.

Recommended if you like Talking Heads, Pylon, and/or early-aughts dance-punk.

Small world. My neighbor John Mitchell is in Soft Reeds, my friend and beer drinking accomplice Scott was the bassist in Ad Astra. Make sure to check out Bloodbirds....
