Boulevard Smokestack Series staple Bourbon Barrel Quad is graduating from a seasonal to a year-round release starting
in October. No more 750 ml bottles, either. BBQ will be available in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles.

Bell’s arrives in Kansas
Bell’s, the Michigan brewery long available on the Missouri side of the state line, is set to debut in Kansas on Monday, June 20. Kicking things off is a beer school at 6 p.m. that day at Barley’s Brewhaus (11924 West 119th Street, Overland Park). Then it’s a 5 p.m. launch party at the Barley’s on Midland Drive (16649 Midland Drive, Shawnee) on Tuesday, June 21, with nine taps, including Mango Habanero Oberon. The Bell’s party moves to Burg & Barrel (7042 West 76th Street, Overland Park) at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 22.

Thursday, 6.16
Jolly Pumpkin brewmaster Ron Jeffries stops at the Belfry (1532 Grand) for a special visit at 6 p.m. Get there to try Jolly Pumpkin and chef Celina Tio’s collaborations: Forgotten Tales of the Last Gypsy Blender s1v1 (collaboration brew) and s1v2 (collaboration blend) as well as other special beers.

Cinder Block Brewery (110 East 18th Avenue, North Kansas City) is hosting a free outdoor screening of Heavyweights with the guys at Screenland. The movie starts when the sun goes down. (Get an Unwind session IPA; you won’t regret it.) If you’re in Lee’s Summit, get your Cinder Block fix at Spin (1808 Northwest Chipman Road).

Bier Station is taking you to Beer Camp with a major tap takeover by Sierra Nevada, Odell and Perennial. Odell founder Doug Odell, Perennial owner Phil Wymore and Sierra Nevada head brewer Steve Dressler will be at the Station. What’s on draft?

Sierra Nevada: Otra Vez, Pale Ale, Nooner, Torpedo, Summerfest, Hoptimum, Stout of the Union, Pat-Rye-Ot, Moxee Moron, West Latitude, Family Values, Sweet Sunny South.

Perennial: Devonshire, Southside Blonde, Hommel Beer, Saison de Lis, Meriwether, 15 Anniversaria, Vintage 17 (2015), Foeder Saison, IPA 10 and Suburban Beverage.

Odell: Tree Shaker, Splice, Drum Roll, 90 Shilling, IPA, St. Lupulin, Meddler, Zard Alu, Repeat, 5 Barrel and Myrcenary.

Told you it was major.

The brewers from 2nd Shift will be at the Flying Saucer (101 East 13th Street) at 6 p.m. Taste Crane brews at Spin Pizza in Overland Park. Share saisons at Grain to Glass (1611 Swift, North Kansas City) from 6 to 8 p.m.; it’s $20.

Boulevardia starts in the West Bottoms and runs through Sunday. The key is getting a ticket to Saturday night’s Taps & Tastes beer festival. It’s sold out, so hit Beer Tasting KC, CraftBeerKC or Craigslist.

Saturday, 6.18
Cinder Block taps one of his kegs of Black Squirrel Russian imperial stout. See you there?

Sunday, 6.19
Spend Father’s Day with a homebrewing-for-beginners class from 2 to 5 p.m. at Grain to Glass. Tickets cost $50.

Monday, 6.20
It’s a big beer-school night at Burg & Barrel with Summit at 7 p.m. The St. Paul, Minnesota, brewery is sending founder Mark Stutrud to educate on four beers. A ticket costs $20.

Grinders Stonewall (10240 Pflumm Road, Lenexa) hosts a Crane Brewing beer dinner.

Tuesday, 6.21
The Summit invasion continues at Bier Station with a tap takeover from 4 to 11 p.m., and Stutrud will be in the house. That’s not all that’s going down at the Station. Tonight is also a fundraiser for the Kansas City Community Kitchen, which has a new, restaurant-style soup kitchen. All of the proceeds from two big Summit kegs (along with a percentage of all tap sales) will go to the KC Community Kitchen.

Mix your barbecue with Crane Brewing’s wild ales tonight during a beer dinner at Plowboys Barbecue (3111 MO-7, Blue Springs).

Wednesday 6.22
Get a Paulaner glass with a draft and help out Pints for Prostates starting at 6 p.m. at the Flying Saucer. That financial investment will get you entered in the raffle for an Oktoberfest trip to Germany and the Czech Republic.

Firestone Walker claims the taps at Rock & Brews (5701 West 135th Street, Overland Park) from 5 to 10 p.m. The Kiss-owned franchise is throwing an IPA party with Luponic Distortion IPA, Union Jack IPA, Easy Jack Session IPA, Double Jack Double IPA and Wookey Jack Black IPA.
