Great Taste of the Midwest Aug 13th 2016.

Postby localbrewer » July 6th, 2016, 7:14 am

My cousins got me tickets to the great taste and I am really excited about it, I have been told that it is one of the best festivals around. My cousins will be pouring for their brewery, Burnt City, so I am hoping that mean I get brewers passes which should add to the awesomeness. I did not know if anyone else was going this year or if there was any suggestions of things to do when in Madison. I know I will be looking for a good liquor store around there to pick some beer up to bring back home but I am not sure what stores are good around there, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Congrats. I've heard that is a great fest. Maybe I heard that from you.

I entered the lottery, but didn't win. New Glarus will be doing a bottle release that weekend. I'd hit that for sure.

That's one fest I've always wanted to go to.

Went last year and going this year. By far the best beer festival in the country. The location next to the lake, the temp for August, and each brewery trying to out do the other. (Revolution had a free Chicago dog stand!) but get up there Friday and walk downtown, pretty great tap takeovers at each place with amazing stuff. Do the Farmers Market in the morning after you get back from the New Glarus release and enjoy the day.

Guy who I traded with a lot when I got into it is doing well at his guezerie, Funk Factory. His beers are sought after now, and it's only gonna get bigger.
