2016 Nanobrew Fest

Postby keezer » July 26th, 2016, 5:19 pm

One of the best fests in KC is happening this weekend at Berkley Riverfront Park. Your ticket gets you access to some of the most interesting, unique beers (and in some cases, some of the best craft beers) in the area...along with a full size glass and a $5 food voucher. It's always a great, relaxed atmosphere and this event is not over-sold.

Of the folks on this site, I will be pouring two of my beers and schumed brewed a bunch for the fest. Not sure if anyone else is.

Yep. You can get them from the link above. They do normally sell out, so I wouldn't hesitate too long.

Any word on what the local breweries will be bringing? Excited for my first Nanobrew.

There's a beer list on the Nano Facebook page:

You'll be much more intrigued by the homebrew options than the commercial beers.

Essentially all the breweries that started out there as homebrewers
Crane Brewing
Cinderblock
Big Rip
Red Crow
Rock and Run

There is a meadery coming starting up in Kansas

Here are my recommendations for this year including some insight on who might be the next brewery in town

Besides some horrible dog owners the fest was pretty damn impressive. Best - Thirsty Whale Brew Co / double whale tail...Danky danky danky. The ugly - Rock and Run / wheat beer...basically I think they threw macaroni in the boil an called it a day. The underwhelming - 2 Matts Brew / double rum stout... Stryofoam infection galore.
