Question about Ursa Marjor

Postby bigpete » December 5th, 2016, 10:11 pm

I know the release is on Tuesday the 20th at 4pm, but does anyone know how fast the bottles sell out or what time to be there to get a bottle? Will it be one per person, this is my favorite imperial stout produced in KC and would love to get acouple bottles, any advice would be helpful.

Thanks
Peter

Last year they handed out tickets around 30 minutes before due to the number of people there for the 2pp release. I'd assume it will be similar this year.

This is one of my favorite annual beer events in KC. Looking forward to it!

As a side note, we opened a 2015 at a bottle share on Black Friday. It was amazing. The consensus was that it is peaking right now.

Just curious, what can we look forward to being on draft on release night? Any special variants on deck?

This may well be true, but I typically have this stuff at 2-3 years old and it's still delicious.

We also had the 2014 the same night, and it had clearly fallen off. It was thin, exhibited more heat and had lost the depth of flavor it had when it was fresher. It had lost balance. It wasn't bad per se, but was much better with less age.

We will have 2014 & 2015 available and over the weeks following the Ursa Major release we will have a few cask variants.
