App constantly crashes. Have downloaded 3 times. Not the only one having this problem.

So how was it? Definitely looked liked like some great breweries this year. I had to miss for the 2nd year in a row.

Taps & Tastes is a rotational, invitational festival. Breweries will rotate on and off year to year to allow for new breweries to attend and to keep the lineup fresh/interesting for attendees.

I feel like the breweries within an hour or so away should be mainstays. Just my opinion. The festival seems to have a very simple, local theme.

The challenge is to offer a new/interesting lineup each year without being able to add too many more breweries to the overall lineup. While we'll continue to feature local breweries, it's just not possible to include everyone each year.

critique:

the area it was held was great for space.

could have used a few more big tents in the middle. it was hot AF.

breweries brought some nice things.

I thought this year's Boulevardia was the best it's been. (I've said that every year since the first).

There was a lot more food (or seemed to be) and the wide open layout let lines form without any issue. There was good beer from more than one brewery I actually wanted to drink, and other than Side Project, nobody ran out early.

It was fucking hot. Miserably fucking hot. The only upside of this is that it made shitty people, who don't understand how to get a beer and get the fuck out of the way, retreat to the shade by Kemper after getting a pour.

Highlights were Side Project (as usual), Central Standard (we really need to talk more about how good they are), Weldwerks, and Narrow Gauge. Overall, I enjoyed myself and thought it was a well run festival. I still don't think it justifies the price tag, but this is the first year where after attending, I don't think I'll feel trepidation about buying next year's ticket.

I would echo Patrick and Russ' comments. Great event, great beer, had a blast and will be back next year. Just wish that ticket price increase would have gone to some more tents or misters or a giant fucking umbrella, really anything to get some shade. It's June, it's more likely to be closer to 100 degrees than it is to 60 degrees. At least last year the start time was pushed back later to allow for more natural shade from the adjacent buildings. Make those improvements and it would be a perfect event. Those complaints aside, it was really a great day.
